50 grams citric acid
2lbs sugar in 3 pints water
Wash flowerheads and quarter oranges and lemons. Dissolve the sugar in the water over heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Allow to cool.
Pour sugar syrup over flowerheads and oranges and lemons. Add citric acid.
Stir twice a day for three days. Decant through a sieve into bottles.
To serve dilute with still or sparkling water.
Two weeks of stunning weather have allowed us time to explore some hidden beaches right on our door step. This one is only a five minute paddle from Lee Bay and we didn’t see another soul all day.
Steep cobbled streets, pretty white-washed houses and a lovely quiet harbour make Clovelly a gorgeous day out whatever the weather.
When the chickens came back from their holiday we started to notice some changes in the little white ‘hen’ Snowy, she has since grown a rather fine comb and has a good set of lungs too!
